1970's park scene
Today we filmed our 1970's scene. Me, Brigite and Jennifer all met up at woolwich arsenal to go towards Karolina's house, here we were able to get hair and make up done. Also Karolinas house has a near by park. This fits our planned location for the 1970's scene.
The hair and make up had to be disco but natural at the same time. We accomplished this look by watching youtube videos to help us create the look.
Makeup artist
- Lian
- Karolina
Hair
- Jennifer (One of our extra who is good at creating 1970's & 1980's hairstyles, she helped us get the big bushy curled hair to represent the era)
After we then headed out to the park to film our scene which is an intertexual reference to Annie Hall where the main protagnoist are sitting on the bench arguing and as they are arguing there are two female protestors, protesting about female rights because during the 1970's women's were fighting for female rights, women independency. As the two main protagonist are arguing the female protestors spot the couple who then helps the female lead but then the male lead runs off and the two protestors are chasing after the male lead, one of the protestors grabs the female lead along.
The protestors then catches up towards the male lead who then suddenly grabs the female lead and runs off leaving the two protestors behind. As the main protagonist are running, the male lead then grabs the female towards a tree who then leads in towards her for a kiss…….
Here are the behind the scene pictures and videos

1950's Date night scene (extra filming)
Today we went back to the same spot where we filmed out 1950's date night scene. The reason on why we came back to film more clips was because we needed to film our female protgonist (artist) singing while she's on a date with the male protagonist.
We filmed in the same spot where we first filmed out date night scene in Tower of London beside the river. Also we tried to film next to a telephone box with her singing but it got too dark.
Instead we filmed on London Bridge
Equipment
- Phone (to play the music)
- Camera
- Tripod

1950's Date night scene
In this scene we shot a night scene of the main protagonist going out on a date
"A box transition effect is used to show a scene of the male protagonist putting on the woman’s coat and opening the door for her (suggestion of him being a gentleman). (Long shot is used).
· Another box transition effect is used to show a scene of the two protagonists walking hand in hand with a green screen behind them showing the London city scape at night. (Close up, Mid shots and Long shots are used).
· The male protagonist hands the female red roses and she is blow away and leans in for a hug as he swoops her off her feet (literally).(Close up, Mid shots and Long shots are used)" - Taken from Love Whiplash Narrative

The scene changes to a 3 part split screen with another woman on the phone interrupting and flirting with the male character ( Mid shot and close up is used)"

Diner scene 1960's 23rd of November
Today we went out and filmed our diner scene which is dated in the 1960's. We met up early to do make up and hair. We filmed out diner scene at Tinseltown in oxford street. In this scene " The scene opens up with a Roy Lichtenstein inspired artwork of the setting of both the protagonists entering Ed's diner. They are both shown to be on a date with a close up shot of her wiping food from his face.
Then an attractive female walks into the restaurant and the male character gets distracted by her beauty and doesn’t listen to what his date is talking about. The female blows a kiss which is shown through a 4 way split screen. The male protagonist responds with a drool which is again illustrated through a 4 way split screen. The female protagonist responds with a slap on her partners face and this is repeated twice and illustrated through a 4 way split screen"
"" is quoted from our storyline narrative
However from what we filmed has extra clips and we changed our narrative around but we did not change our narrative fully we just added extra scenes. We will talk about this in our Video Diary

Classroom scene 21st Thursday November
Today we filmed our class room scene which appears as an introduction to our music video, this is where " The scene opens up with an establishing shot of a classroom setting with the female and male characters sitting in class. A lesion is taking part and we get a mid-shot of the protagonist staring into space and then an eye-line match edit is used to show the female looking at the clock which is ticking really slowly (slow motion editing) with that the teachers voice becomes much slower. There is also a shot of her looking at her crush ( the male protagonist) in front of her. There is also an intertextual reference to Britney Spears song “Hit Me Baby One More Time” as she recreates the pencil smacking on the desk. We are then shown a mid-shot of her reading the book, followed by a close up of the book and then as she turns the page of the book she starts to daydream and the next page of the book illustrates her imagination where she sees a split screen shot of her and her crush talking on the phone however she is brought into the 1950’s. The camera goes into that shot and the music starts playing"
Also we filmed out Ending scene to finish our music video off there is where "A soft focus edit is then adjusted here to then display the female lead singer back in the modern day, sitting in her classroom {showing that she has been daydreaming}, as the bell rings. Everyone is leaving the classroom but the female protagonist is still dreaming and the male protagonist approaches her to wake her up but she leans in towards him to kiss him but then he says "i don't swing that way" that's when she fully wakes up and see's him walking off to his boyfriend and holding hands with him" This is the ending scene to our music video
